The B.Ed. programme shall be of duration of two academic years. It can be completed in a maximum period of three years from the date of admission to the programme.
Admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and /or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the State Government/ U.T Administration and the University.
This course has been designed for those aspirants who are interested to pursue career in teaching and other related fields for teaching in High School and Higher Secondary school. B.Ed degree is essential for this. The need for trained teachers is very high in India. Many schools are coming into existence day by day. One is required to have a minimum qualification in Bachelor of Education to become a successful professional in teaching field.
B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) is an undergraduate degree course which prepares student for work as a teacher in schools. Provisionally this degree was known as BT (Bachelor of Training)
After completing B.Ed degree one becomes eligible to become a teacher
Once you have completed this course you can also go for the Masters course in this field like M.Ed (Master of Education ) offered by various institution of India.
National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is the organization which monitors study programs on education in the Country.
Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) is a title given to teachers who have completed their graduation and training. If you have done post graduation course like M.A and also completed B.Ed then you are eligible to become a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)
